For the spring 2019 semester, the De La Salle Language Institute welcomes back Br. Guillaume Yame. Originally from Togo, West Africa, Br. Guillaume traveled to SMU in order to improve his English language skills before beginning his graduate studies. This summer, Br. Guillaume will have completed both the M.A. in Teaching and M.A. in Lasallian Leadership programs. As part of his M.A. in Teaching program, Br. Guillaume is acting as an ESL classroom assistant this semester inside the language institute. While working closely with DLI instructors and students, he is using this experience to apply within a classroom what he has learned during his graduate studies. In his home country, Br. Guillaume was previously a middle school French and religious studies instructor. Br. Guillaume believes his passion for teaching stems from inspiration from his own past teachers. He considers himself fortunate not only to have had many teachers who loved what they were doing but also to have seen firsthand how that joy for teaching inspired students. DLI wishes to thank Br. Guillaume for sharing his love of and talent for teaching with everyone here.
