The new international students were welcomed to Minnesota by a sudden snowstorm on January 11, which cancelled many flights. Once safe and sound in Winona, our five new students from China, Colombia, Mexico, and Venezuela participated in comprehensive International Student Services Orientation sessions for the first weekend and week of class. They are a great group!

Students have certainly been enjoying winter this semester. They have built snowmen in front of the International Center, viewed the snowy landscape from Garvin Heights, marveled at the ice fishing on Lake Winona, and many went ice skating for the first time in their lives. The international students have been busy this past month, cooking traditional cuisines for an international meal (pictured below), showcasing their countries at Around the World in 10 Tables to kick off Multicultural Week, and hosting a Lunar New Year Celebration.
