The International Center celebrated its inaugural International Education Week, November 14-19, with many successful events. The first major event was the Parade of Nations, in which approximately 40 students donned in international fashion and carrying the flags of the world shared their diversity while marching through the Toner Center and Saint Mary’s Hall. The International Center hosted an international tea party so that the Saint Mary’s community could sample Vietnamese coffee; Saudi Arabian, Chinese, and Japanese teas; and Mexican hot chocolate. International students later also shared their cultures with the university during an open house—this event included food, music, dance, art, and much more. Participants of SOUL, Study Abroad, and the Maryknoll Institute of African Studies trips shared their travel experiences in noon-hour presentations in addition to students displaying their worldliness at International Trivia Night. International Education Week ended with the celebration of Africa Night.
