Thank you to all who joined us in the International Center to celebrate Chinese New Year 2019. We had over 100 participants attend. Chinese New Year is one of the most important traditional holidays in China. Along with China, the day is also celebrated in countries like Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, North Korea, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam, which all follow the lunar calendar. It is a festival marking the start of the new year. It begins on the first day of the first month of the Chinese calendar, also known as the Lunar New Year, and is celebrated with family and friends, special meals, fireworks, and gift giving.
